The program of the Chair on Electrically Active Nanostructures and Interfaces aims at exploring low-dimensional materials using advanced spectroscopy and chemical functionalization. More specifically, single-wall carbon nanotubes, graphene, exfoliated black-Phosphorus and more complex structures made of these building blocks will be investigated through projects involving nanodevices, nanoprobes, interfaces and membranes. Projectschallenging the sensitivity limits of the electrical or optical transduction during chemical phenomena are proposed along with ideas towards controlling surface states, filtering electrons and advancing graphene-based membranes for molecular sieving. Though experimental research, the Chair will advance the basic knowledge of interfacial chemistry at the nanometer scale.
