英文摘要
Redox-sensitive stable metal isotope systems are emerging as powerful tools to address fundamental questions in evolution and major societal challenges such as securing sufficient mineral and energy resources to sustain an increasingly advanced technological society while simultaneously protecting the environment. Dr. Kendall¿s team will use established and innovative isotope systems to provide new insights on the relationship between early animal evolution and changes in ocean oxygenation; better understand ore mineralization processes, which will help exploration companies find new ore deposits; and study changes to lakes during the proliferation of harmful algal blooms, to inform strategies for environmental protection and remediation.
