Multifunctional Construction Materials Respecting The Environment

The objective of this Canada Research Chair program is to design, fabricate and implement multifunctional intelligent construction materials from managed resources within a circular economy while respecting the resources¿ planetary boundaries. The research program is based on an experimental approach supported by modelling. The expected deliverables are through the demonstration of the added value of multifunctional construction materials exhibiting improved mechanical, chemical and environmental durability, as well as better circularity. The chair will engage with research users in other universities, and in the private, non-profit and public sectors. Training highly qualified personnel in multifunctional materials is also a main priority.
