Rampart Partitions Inc., a three-generation Canadian family-owned business, is a manufacturer of demountable partitions systems for commercial and institutional construction projects. The partnership of Rampart Partitions Inc. with the École de technologie supérieure aims to develop a parametric approach based on Building Information Modeling (BIM) for modular design and construction. The objectives include the development of a parametric approach and tool for the design and prefabrication of modular systems, to extend the capabilities of the design software used (Autodesk Revit) through the use of visual programming tools (Dynamo) or APIs using programming languages (Python and/or C ++); and the creation of a bidirectional link between the developed parametric tool and the existing databases of products and materials, to allow a real-time update, a dynamic export of the Bill of Materials (BOM), and an update of the price list. The results of the project will increase the capacity of Canadian companies in modular and prefabricated construction, thereby improving productivity and quality throughout the industry.
