Scalable Liquid-Liquid Encapsulation for Drug Delivery

Developing a fast, scalable encapsulation technique with high throughput and flexible yet stable core-shell combination is a current bottleneck for the pharmaceutical industry. This Alliance International proposal addresses this challenge by bringing together researchers from the University of Waterloo and Technical University Eindhoven. The proposed activities during the one-year project include organizing a summer school in hybrid mode on Frontiers of Encapsulation Technology, performing collaborative research involving PIs and HQP to deliver on the project objectives and working towards other funding opportunities to sustain this collaborative partnership beyond one year. The successful completion of the proposed activities would create opportunities to accelerate the biomanufacturing priorities of the province, enable international trade with the European Union and create cost-effective pharmaceutical formulations for vulnerable populations locally and globally.
