To obtain an integrative perspective of cell network functions in vivo, imaging applications are becoming increasingly complex and diverse, requiring the combination of several modalities. Today, fluorescence imaging is an essential modality to study dynamic biological processes. It is the gold standard for quantitatively measuring molecular interactions and ionic concentrations. However, its in vivo application is currently limited by commercially available optical technologies. Conventional fluorescence microscopy systems are limited by the optical sectioning and the low imaging acquisition speed. Recently, Bessel-type volumetric imaging has demonstrated its usefulness for rapid in vivo imaging and has allowed the functional study of living biological samples. By offering unique and adapted technological products, Bliq Photonics addresses customers looking for state-of-the-art solutions. The combination of a video rate volumetric microscope with fluorescence lifetime imaging will democratize the observation of molecular interactions at the macroscopic scale of brain structures in vivo. The product resulting from this collaboration and the new applications in neuroscience and cell biology developed through this project will provide Bliq Photonics with a major commercial asset and will allow it to expand its offer and market share.
