英文摘要
Ligaments connect bone across a joint and function to resist tensile loads that would tend to separate the joint. During daily activities ligaments experience sustained and repeated loads. Ligaments may become damaged under the actions of these loads if the load is high or the duration of time exposed to the load is long. The mechanics of damage of ligaments exposed to sustained and repeated loads can be measured and compared between undamaged and damaged ligaments. Examining the structural components that make up ligament may provide insight into what is being damaged and whether it is different if the load is sustained or repeated.
