《更路簿》是中国古代海南岛渔民的航海指南，保存了大量南海诸岛土地名和南海诸岛及其附近海域的地质、水文、气象、生物等信息。深入调查整理各版本的《更路簿》资料并对其中的土地名进行文化解读，既有助于探讨我国海南岛渔猎文化景观的历史起源、发展变迁和不同时期的空间格局，同时对确认南海诸岛及其附近海域的主权属于中国具有重要的历史文化价值。本课题拟通过实地调查、深入访谈、文献考释等方法，探究各版本《更路簿》土地名的命名缘由、命名规律；解读《更路簿》土地名中隐含的文化信息，剖析南海诸岛土地名的发展演化和文化分层，揭示海南岛渔猎文化景观的时空格局与历史变迁；利用历史文献、地理信息技术和风洞试验等手段，模拟季风、洋流等对历史时期渔民航海活动的影响，确认南海诸岛土地名地理实体的空间分布，复原南海诸岛及其附近海域古代航线路线图，建设南海诸岛土地名信息数据库。为南海诸岛及其附近海域的领土主权属于中国提供理论支撑。

Genglubu are sailing guides of ancient Chinese fishermen in Hainan Island. They contain lots of local place names of Nanhai Islands as well as hydrological, meteorological and other geographic information.In-depth investigation into various version of Genglubu and cultural interpretation of the local place names, not only help to explore the historical origins, develpoment and spatial pattern of China's Hainan Island fishing and hunting cultural landscape,but also have great historical and cultural value to confirm China's sovereignty of the Nanhai Islands and their adjacent waters.Using methods such as field surveys,in-depth interviews and literature, we try to explore the origin, patterns of the local place names.We try to interpret the implied cultural information of the local place names in Genglubu to parse the historical evolution and cultural stratification of the local place names and to reveal the temporal pattern and historical changes of Hainan Island fishing and hunting cultural landscape.Based on historical documents, geographic information technology, and wind tunnel tests , we also try to simulate the impact of the monsoon and ocean currents on sailing activities of acient fishermen, to confirm the spatial distribution of the geographical entities that the local place names refered to, to recover routes map in South China Sea of Chinese acient fishermen, and to construct information database of the local place names of Nanhai Islands in Genglubu. We believe that this research can provide theoretical support for China to confirm territorial sovereignty of the South China Sea islands and their adjacent waters.
