多囊卵巢综合征（PCOS）是从围青春期开始，最常见的影响妇女一生的妇科内分泌疾病，非常有必要对广大妇女行关于PCOS的科普教育。本项目将以已完成的两个关于青春期和成年期妇女的大型PCOS流行病学调查为基础，进一步面向青春期少女与成年妇女开展以专题为“PCOS的发病进程与临床特点”，形式以科普展览为主、电视台和报纸采访报道扩大影响力的科普教育活动；使广大妇女从青春期开始认识PCOS，成年期得以及时补救其科普知识。这将对PCOS的三级预防——判别并发现危险因素、及时诊断并干预PCOS，并使患者得到充分的认知，接受长期而有效的治疗措施有重大作用，达到延缓或阻断疾病进程，预防早发2型糖尿病、心血管疾病和子宫内膜癌等远期并发症的发生的目的，对维护妇女的生殖健康与生活质量有重要意义。

Polycystic ovary syndrome is the most common gynecologic disorder which will start from the puberty and affect the whole life of women . It is vital to perform education of popular science on PCOS to the majority of women. Based on the two completed large epidemiological survey on PCOS among the adolescent and adult women, respectively, The project will further carry out the activities of popular science education on the special subject of the progression and clinical characteristics of PCOS, in the form of popular science exhibition, with the television and newspaper coverage to expand the influence, so that the majority of women could know PCOS from puberty; and even not from so early, they could be remedied the popular science knowledge in adulthood. This will be very helpful to the three-stage prevention of PCOS-- discriminating the risk factors of PCOS, diagnosing PCOS as early as possible and taking intervention timely; and making patients get full cognition to take long-term and effective treatment measures. Besides, it very meaningful to slow down or block the progress of the disease, prevent the occurrence of its long-term complications, such as early-onset type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and endometrial cancer, and to protect women's reproductive health and quality of life.
