建立客观量化的证候诊断方法是实现中医现代化的关键环节,而舌诊是中医四诊最易量化的诊断方法之一。以舌诊图像为基础,构建人工智能证候诊断模型,符合证候研究的迫切需求。但是,当前仍缺乏合适的人工智能算法来建立舌诊图像与中医证候之间的关联。拟以慢性萎缩性胃炎为例,在前期1000例样本的基础上,提出多种深度学习卷积神经网络算法,探索适合中医舌象特征识别、疾病严重程度分级和病证结合证候诊断的人工智能舌诊模型,再用200例新样本验证模型的有效性和推广性;引入加权梯度类激活映射技术,阐明对疾病程度和证候分类贡献较大的图像特征,把模型有效性直观地还原到中医临床,丰富中医舌诊的内涵。本项目提出的新方法有助于提升证候诊断的准确性,增强舌诊的普及性,推动舌诊仪器的深入研发,具有重要的理论、临床和经济意义。

Developing objective and quantitative syndrome diagnosis method is the key to realize the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Tongue diagnosis is one of the most quantifiable diagnostic methods in the four diagnostic methods of TCM. The establishment of artificial intelligence syndrome diagnosis model based on tongue images is the imperative requirement of syndrome researches. However, there is still a lack of perfect artificial intelligence algorithm to connect tongue image with TCM syndrome. Based on previous data of 1000 chronic atrophic gastritis patients, a variety of deep learning convolution neural network algorithms will be proposed to explore an artificial intelligence tongue diagnosis model suitable for TCM tongue feature recognition, disease severity classification, and disease-syndrome combination syndrome diagnosis. Then, 200 new samples will be enrolled and analyzed to validate the effectiveness and generalization of the model. Finally, the gradient-weighted class activation mapping technique will be used to visualize the most indicative regions for disease severity and syndrome classification. This visualization procedure can provide researchers with intuitive references for syndrome diagnosis, enhance clinical practicality, and enrich the connotation of TCM tongue diagnosis. The new artificial intelligence method proposed in this project can help to improve the accuracy of syndrome diagnosis, the popularity of tongue diagnosis, and in-depth development of tongue diagnostic instruments. It has great theoretical, clinical, and economic significances.
