由于历史上北方汉民不断南迁，逐渐在岭南地区形成了广府、客家、潮汕、雷琼四大汉族民系，各民系聚落都形成了极具族群特色和地域特色的景观文化特征，是区域空间史研究的珍贵样本，对其进行研究是传统村落保护和地域文化传承的基础。.目前各学域对于聚落景观的研究较为分散，多从单一学科角度进行，缺乏系统且深入的认知与分析。本课题期望以景观体系为研究视角，整合风景园林学、建筑学、规划学、农林学等学科的研究成果，重新构建对传统聚落空间认知与描述的完整体系，并在此基础上分析聚落的各项景观指征，比较总结各民系聚落景观特点。运用文化地理学的研究方法，借助地理信息系统的海量信息存储和分析优势，通过对约2500个聚落样本的统计分析，依据 “个案——类型——区划” 的研究路径，完成岭南传统聚落景观的类型谱系和文化区划研究。最后通过跨学科的综合分析，关联探求聚落景观的环境作用机制，从而为岭南传统聚落景观的保护与发展提供依据

Due to the continuous migration of Han ethnic group from the north to the south in history, four Han ethnic groups, Guangfu, Hakka, Chaoshan and Leiqiong, have gradually formed in Lingnan area. The settlements of each ethnic group have formed the landscape cultural characteristics with ethnic and regional characteristics. They are precious samples for the study of regional spatial history. The study on them is the basis of the protection of traditional villages and the inheritance of regional culture..At present, the research on settlement landscapes in various academic fields is scattered, mostly from a single discipline perspective, lacking systematic and in-depth cognition and analysis. This topic expects to integrate the research results of landscape, architecture, planning, agroforestry and other disciplines from the perspective of landscape system, rebuild a complete system of cognition and description of traditional settlement space , and on this basis, analyze the landscape indicators of the settlement, compare and summarize the characteristics of the settlement landscape of different ethnic groups.Using the method of cultural geography, with the massive information storage and analysis advantages of GIS, through the statistical analysis of about 2,500 settlement samples, according to the research path of "case-type-regionalization", to complet the type pedigree and cultural regionalization of traditional settlement landscape in Lingnan . Finally, through the comprehensive analysis of interdisciplinary, explore the environmental mechanism of settlement landscape, which provides a basis for the protection and development of the traditional settlement landscape in Lingnan area.
