早侏罗世托阿尔期(Toarcian)大洋缺氧事件(T-OAE)在海相地层领域得到了广泛而深入的研究并且成为国际地学界的研究热点之一。然而,关于陆地生态系统对T-OAE的响应情况仍缺乏定量化的认识。针对上述科学问题,本项目拟以湖北秭归盆地Toarcian期保存良好的植物化石和剖面为研究对象,重点展开三个方面的研究:1)利用三种国际前沿方法,重建我国首个Toarcian期陆相pCO2连续变化曲线;2)利用研究剖面不同层位的植物化石组合、小叶类群/大叶类群、比叶质量及平均叶片宽度等多个植物化石参数与pCO2之间的耦合关系,推断秭归盆地Toarcian期的古气候环境变迁;3)根据研究剖面的有机碳同位素曲线变化特征与全球同期海相和陆相地层进行对比。本项研究将为揭示Toarcian期陆生植被组合特征与形态结构演化、古气候环境变迁及陆地生态系统对T-OAE的响应情况提供重要依据。
英文摘要
The main characterization and genetic mechanism of the Early Jurassic Toarcian oceanic anoxic event (T-OAE) have been extensively and deeply studied in the marine realm and has become one of the research hotspots in the international geoscience community. However, the quantitative study on the response of terrestrial ecosystems to T-OAE are still very limited. Under this circumstance, this proposal will take the well-preserved plant fossils from the Toarcian of the Zigui Basin in Hubei Province as our materials to investigate the following three aspects: 1) Using three international frontier methods to reconstruct China's first Toarcian terrestrial pCO2 continuous variation curve; 2) Utilizing the integrity of multiple plant fossil parameters such as plant fossil combinations, microphyllous/ macrophyllous, leaf mass per area, and mean leaf dissection widths and pCO2 in different layers of the section to infer the environmental conditions during Toarcian of the Zigui Basin; 3) Based on the comparison of the carbon isotopic curves with the global marine and terrestrial strata, reveal the response of the terrestrial ecosystem to T-OAE. This study will provide important evidence for predicting the combination characteristics and morphological evolution of terrestrial vegetation, changes in paleoclimatic environments, and the response of terrestrial ecosystems to T-OAE.
