The homeoproteins Msx1 and Msx2 play an important role in the development of the central nervous system, and their abnormal expression causes nervous system diseases. Previous studies of the applicant showed that after the specific knockout of Msx1 and Msx2 in the central nervous system, mice developed relatively severe birth defects in the forebrain cortex and cerebellum. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the role of Msx1/2 in the development of the central nervous system remains unclear. Understanding the role of Msx1/2 in the development of the central nervous system will help us understand the mechanism of the occurrence and development of nervous system diseases. Based on the unpublished previous research data, the applicant intends to construct Msx1 and Msx2 knockout mouse models and stem cell lines, and systematically analyze the molecular mechanism of Msx1/2 in the nervous system through the following experiments. 1) To analyze the specific role of Msx1/2 in the development of the central nervous system; 2) to reveal the molecular basis of Msx1/2 regulating the development of the central nervous system; 3) to elucidate the molecular mechanism of Msx1/2 regulating the development of the central nervous system. The results will help people understand the fine molecular roles of Msx1/2 in regulating the development of central mental system, and provide a solid theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases.
