Melt-spinning polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is a green, efficient and low-cost method for the preparation of PAN fiber. Plasticizing is one of the ways to realize the melt-spinning of PAN. The functionalized acrylonitrile oligomer (LAN) is expected to be a new type of melt-spinning plasticizer for PAN, which can not only have the plasticizing effect in the melt process but also reduce defects in the carbonization process of PAN..In this project, the molecular structural design of the functionalized LAN and its collaborative plasticized melt-spinning technology of PAN were studied. The unification of melt-spinnability rheological properties and high effective thermal stabilization of PAN were studied. The melt-spinning of PAN copolymer with high acrylonitrile content was realized in the end. The first step was to design the bifunctional LAN with plasticization and cyclization-motivated effect. The functional monomer and chain transfer agent were optimized, and the molecular chain structure of LAN was regulated. The structure-property relationship and the regulation mechanism of the LAN were established. Second, the melt-spinning process of PAN copolymer with a functionalized LAN was investigated. The interaction between PAN copolymer and plasticizer molecules was investigated. Moreover, the synergistic plasticizing mechanism and thermal stabilization mechanism were also studied..The aim of this project is to coordinate the contradiction between the melt-spinnability and the cyclization of PAN copolymer. It is to establish a new way for the collaborative plasticized melt-spinning technology of PAN copolymer with a functionalized LAN. In the end, the scientific basis and a new route of melt-spinning PAN-based carbon fiber will be developed.
