微小型全固态绿光激光器在国民经济、社会发展及国防军事等领域拥有广泛应用需求,激光自倍频晶体是其关键核心。但目前可实用化激光自倍频晶体依然稀缺。Nd:LCB晶体是我国发现且领先发展的新型激光自倍频晶体,其有效非线性系数大、抗光损伤能力强、热导率高、热膨胀系数及其各向异性小、不潮解、机械加工性能优良,具有发展成为实用化激光自倍频晶体的巨大潜力。本项目拟开展大尺寸高光学质量Nd:LCB晶体生长、光谱和非线性光学性能等研究,基于Nd:LCB中Nd3+的多格位取代,选择激发Ca2+位Nd3+离子, 克服Nd3+在525nm附近本征吸收影响,最佳化激光增益与非线性光学效应有效耦合及器件设计制备,突破绿光输出功率低的瓶颈,实现3~5W自倍频绿光输出。本项目研究对促进Nd:LCB走向实际应用具有重要意义,对在激活离子多格位取代晶体中拓展激光波长并实现高功率激光输出、发展新型激光自倍频晶体也有一定借鉴价值。
英文摘要
Miniature all-solid-state laser generated green laser has been widely applied in many fields, such as national economy, social development, national defense and military, etc. Self-frequency doubling crystal (SFD), in which the laser effect and the nonlinear optical phenomena occur simultaneously inside the same host, is the critical material of miniature green laser. At present, it is urgently needed to develop new self-frequency doubling laser crystal which are favorable to generate green laser with the high efficiency and high power. Nd:LCB crystal is a new laser self-frequency doubling crystal discovered and developed in our country, which has large effective nonlinear coefficient, strong resistance to laser damage, high thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient and its anisotropy, chemically stable in atmosphere and free from moisture, and good mechanical properties, so it has great potential to develop into a practical self-frequency doubling crystal. This project is focused on the key growth technology of the Nd:LCB crystal with large size and high optical quality, the spectral characteristics of absorption and emission, the design and fabrication of laser device, and self-frequency doubling green laser output performance, etc. Based on the multi-lattice substitution of Nd3+ in LCB, the intrinsic absorption effect of Nd3+ near 525 nm has been overcomed by selective excitation of Nd3+ ion active centers in the Ca2+ sites. The optimized laser coupling with nonlinear effect and device design and fabrication break through the bottleneck of low output power of green laser and realize 3 ~ 5 W self-frequency doubling green laser output. This project is of great significance to promote the application of Nd:LCB. It can also be used as reference for expanding the laser wavelength and realizing the high power laser output in the active ion multi-lattice substitution crystals,and exploring new laser self-frequency doubling crystals.
