Pollinating insects are very important for plant reproduction, and plants also provide food and habitat for insects. They have formed a stable co-evolutionary relationship in the long period of biological evolution, and only by studying early pollinators can fully understand the origin and evolution of insect pollination. The late Mesozoic pollinating insects are abundant and have complex interactions with host plants, most current studies are limited to classical taxonomy, however quantitative statistics and comprehensive phylogenetic analysis have not been carried out. This project takes the late Mesozoic Aneuretopsychina from the Northeastern China as research subjects, and using phylogenetic analysis explored the origin and evolution model of siphoning proboscis. The qualitative functional morphological analysis and quantitative geometric morphological analysis were used to study the adaptive evolutionary relationship between host plant reproductive organs and insect siphoning proboscis. Combining the indirect evidence of morphological structure and the direct evidence of pollen, the pollination patterns of modern insects were compared, and siphoning-proboscid insects were matched with host plants. The research results are significant for analysis the relationship between Aneuretopsychina and host plants. It provides reliable theoretical evidence for current research on the co-evolution of pollinating insects and plants, the interaction between insects and environment, and the co-evolution of corresponding pollination patterns.
