SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences在国内地球科学基础研究领域具有一定的影响力，但国际影响力明显偏弱。拟通过结合国际先进的办刊理念，配合主编工作、充分发挥编委会的作用，组织优秀稿源，实行公平严格的审理机制，加大刊物的宣传力度和提高编辑队伍业务水平等方式，使SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences充分发挥高水平学术期刊的学术交流平台作用，在未来2年内发展成为在国内外具有较广泛影响力的学术期刊，并力争各个学术指标进入到国际同类地学学术期刊的中等行列。

SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences witnessed and recorded the fast growth and great progress of earth sciences in China in the past. However, it is not internationally recognized. Therefore, with the great support of National Natural Science Foundation and by the joint efforts of the editorial board and editorial department, we hope that, in the next two years this journal will make big progress over impact factor, total citation, and publishing cycle, and so on, and become the leading journal in China, and reach middle even upper level in the world.
