地震和强降雨事件对地表的沉积物输运和有机碳循环有着显著的影响。然而,由于这些突发事件发生的频次较低,再加上难以获得事件前后长时间的记录,这类事件对地表过程的影响,特别是如何影响有机碳循环及其通量还知之甚少。本申请选取受2008年汶川地震剧烈影响的岷江流域为研究对象,将新兴的逐步升温裂解/氧化方法与有机碳氮同位素相结合,分析河流悬浮物和紫坪铺水库沉积物的有机质来源、通量和埋藏速率,结合地震滑坡和震后泥石流时空分布和气象水文数据,“从源到汇”探讨2008年汶川地震和2004-2019年期间水文事件对龙门山有机质侵蚀、输运和埋藏的影响,为“构造-剥蚀-气候”之间的关系提供科学的区域实例。
英文摘要
As the main triggers of landsliding, the earthquake and storm could cause large amount of sediment and organic carbon erosion and transfer, whose impact could prolong for years to centuries. Despite their potential significance, we still do not know how and to what extent these events impact on the earth surface process and partically the organic carbon cycle. This is mainly due to the low frequency of these events, which is hard to predict and consequently the sample before the event or long-term record is lack. To address these key challenges, we proposed to target on the sediment core of Zipingpu reservoir, which records the 2008 Mw 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake. Adopting the state-of-the-art ramped pyrolysis/oxidation approaches with combination of carbon and nitrogen isotopic analysis, we will constrain on provenance, fluxes and burial rate of particulate organic carbon of the Min Jiang, Longmen Shan. With combination of landslide inventory and meteorological hydrological data, we will track the organic carbon from source to sink and investigate the impact of 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and hydrological events during 2004-2019 on the organic carbon erosion, transport and burial. This study will link the tectonic and organic carbon cycle and test the hypothesis of “tectonic-weathering-climate”.
