英文摘要
Researches of biotic stability mechanisms and their regulating factors in the Inner Mongolian temperate grassland are helpful for us to precisely evaluate the sustainability of this region and predict the effects of global changes. However, biotic stability mechanisms proposed by theoretical and biodiversity experimental studies basing on evenly distributed species abundances are argued to be irrelevant to natural ecosystems characterized with high-unevenness pattern. In addition, traditional single-site and community-level studies potentially neglected modifying effects of climatic factors on community stability and its maintaining biotic mechanisms, but also neglected the effects of inter-community dynamics on stabilities of natural ecosystems. Furthermore, we are still unclear about whether stabilities of natural ecosystems are driven by species richness or dominant species. Here, we will conduct a 38-sites study in Inner Mongolian temperate grassland characterized with unevenness, and investigate the stability and its biotic and abiotic regulating factors using a metacommunity-level method. This project aimed to examine the proposed stability mechanisms and analyze effects of climatic factors and inter-community dynamics on stabilities of natural ecosystems characterized with unevenness. In addition, this project will also analyze whether stabilities of natural communities and metacommunities are regulated by species richness or dominant species. This project will be helpful to precisely predict effects of global changes on the productivity stability of Inner Mongolian temperate grassland and has practical implications for region-scale ecosystem conservation.
