早二叠世是地质历史的关键时期,经历了显生宙最大规模的冰期结束、向温室期转变的过程。华南板块在早二叠世位于低纬度带,记录了高度分异的化石类群对气候转折的不同响应、极地冰盖周期性消涨所形成的旋回性沉积。本项目以华南为重点,通过牙形刺和䗴类等多门类古生物学研究,揭示生物地层学特征,建立高精度生物地层对比格架,并进一步分析晚石炭世—早二叠世多种生物门类多样性变化趋势,揭示化石新生率和灭绝率的变化及其与环境的关系。通过对早二叠世典型剖面的岩石地层学和沉积岩石学研究,识别其旋回性特征,探讨冰川的发育及其影响。开展同位素地球化学和环境背景研究,对冰期消融及其导致的海平面上升和海水温度增高与沉积旋回、生物更替事件的相关性进行综合分析,为正确理解晚古代气候变迁、生物演化、地质发展史做出我国重要的、关键性的贡献;为揭示过去和预测未来地球环境和生存条件提供借鉴。
英文摘要
The early Permian is a critical transition in the geological history, when the Late Palaeozoic Ice Age reached its acme and start to demise and the global climate changed from Ice House to Green House. The South China Plate was located at low latitude during this time period, and recorded significant changes of the fossil compositions and sedimentary cycles in response to the climatic changes. On the bases of a series of geological sections from different facies in South China, this project will carry out the following researches: 1) palaeontology and biostratigraphy of various fossil groups such as conodonts, foraminifers (fusulinids), rugose corals and brachiopods to refine the early Permian timescale with high resolution and to provide the basic framework for all the following researches. 2) statistical analyses on the diversity, the extinction and origination rate for each fossil group to clarify the evolutionary process of early Permian biotic event. 3) lithostratigraphy and sedimentary in selected sections to reveal Carboniferous-Permian cyclothems that resulted from the global sea-level changes caused by waxing and waning of Gondwana glaciation. 4) carbonate carbon isotopes to reveal the geochemical background, conodont apatite oxygen and strontium isotopes to recover the palaeotemperature and sea level fluctuation, and organic geochemical analyses to reconstruct marine environments. Such synthetic and multi-disciplinary research of the applying project, the outcome would be a crucial contribution to the comprehensive understanding of the interplay among climate change, sedimentary difference, and biological evolution in the geological history.
