现代建筑观念的图像表现研究

本项目是将现代建筑史中的建筑图像作为专门对象展开历史研究。沿着西方现代建筑与中国近、现代建筑发展的两条脉络，项目着重选择历史上反映建筑观念表达和范式创新的建筑图像，进行深入阅读和理解。具体包括三个方面，第一汇集资料，梳理类别，作出中、西现代建筑历史图像各自的谱系整理；第二是展开图像的表现研究，包括形式分析、观念阐释和范式解读；第三是追溯图像的原境，从人文社会、科技环境以及学科传统中更全面地解读图像表现。项目旨在通过图像-观念史研究，充实相关现代建筑史的知识体系，呈现图像研究的独特意义与学科价值，以跨学科途径开放历史视野，探索研究方法，推动建筑学作为视觉文化领域重要成分的新的学科拓展与交流。同时，以此独特视角观察中、西现代建筑发展史的关联与差异，深化建筑现代性讨论，启发当代建筑观察。最后，相关研究将转换为建筑历史与理论及其跨学科领域的教学资源和教学方法，实现对提升当代建筑教育的直接作用。

The research project aims to investigate architectural images in history of modern architecture. By parallel tracing on history of modern architecture both in China and in the Western world, it plans to focuses on images reflecting conceptual and paradigm transformation and innovation in architecture. It is expected to conduct an in-depth analysis and interpretation of these images mainly in 3 steps. Firstly, by collecting related resources and information with a category study, the project tries to build up the genealogical classification for these architectural images. Secondly, it will develop the study on image representation through form analysis, conceptual clarification and paradigm interpretation. Finally, by tracing the total-context of these architectural images, the project aims to establish a more comprehensive understanding about how these images’ formation and production related to their social and cultural conditions, the scientific and technological environment and the academic tradition. Through these study approaches this research on image-concept will lead to multiple purposes such as to enrich knowledge on history of modern architecture, to reveal a specific significance of image study for architectural discipline, to explore new research methods with interdisciplinary perspectives, to promote architecture as a significant component of and the possible interdisciplinary exchange with visual culture study. The project also tends to provide an observation on the relationship and difference between the history of modern architecture in China and that in the Western world from a special perspective, so as to deepen the discussion of architectural modernity and to inspire a related observation and critique of contemporary architecture. Finally, the result of this research will be transformed into new resources and methods in the teaching courses on history and theory of modern architecture in architectural schools and related interdisciplinary fields, to show its contribution to the improvement in architectural education.
