Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) technology provides a new form of multiplexing for free space optical (FSO) communications, and can be used as an innovative way to increase the system channel capacity. Exploring the propagation mechanism of vortex beams in complex random media is one of the key scientific issues of OAM multiplexing technology. In addition, the technical advocacy of the future “space-air-ground-ocean” integration makes the study of the cross-medium propagation of light beams from the atmosphere to the ocean a development direction of future optical communication technology. Therefore, firstly, this project aims to establish the power spectrum model of the atmosphere-ocean mixed turbulence (AOMT) to solve the problem of the construction of the surface ocean-low atmosphere link. Secondly, taking the partially coherent vortex beam with the advantage of suppressing the turbulence effect as the research object, explore the propagation mechanism of the partially coherent vortex beam in the atmosphere-ocean mixed turbulence, study the influence of several factors of the light source and AOMT on the propagation properties of partially coherent vortex beams and reveal its physical mechanism. Finally, from the perspective of OAM mode dispersion and crosstalk, the advantages of OAM multiplexing communication system based on partially coherent vortex beams in terms of bit error rate and channel capacity are analyzed. The research results of this project provide a systematic theoretical model for information transmission on the surface ocean-low atmosphere link, and provide reliable theoretical basis and technical support for the fields of FSO communication in the surface ocean environment and underwater target detection.
