数学科普著作的翻译及数学史的传播

数学史是了解和研究数学发生过程及其发展规律的科学，翻译出一本适合大众阅读的高水平数学史著作，对数学的推广具有重要的理论价值和现实意义。本项目旨在汉译《The story of mathematics: from creating the pyramids to exploring infinity》，并进行数学史的传播和推广。基于译著初稿已经完成，我们将首先完善译文的准确性、专业性和流畅度，核查专业术语，剖析翻译难点，润色译文表达。其次，拟通过两个主要途径实现数学史的传播与推广：一是在重庆市中小学开设数学史科普类社团，讲授译著内容，并通过赠送分发的形式，将译著作为推荐书目，引导学生自主阅读；二是在西南大学面向全体本科生开设数学史通识选修课程，同时开展小型学术研讨会，积极推广译著。本项目将为英文数学科普著作的汉译及数学史的传播提供有价值的参考。

The history of mathematics is a science to understand and study the occurrence as well as the development of mathematics. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to complete a high-level translation work suitable for the public. Our research is to translate《The story of mathematics: from creating the pyramids to exploring infinity》into Chinese, and promote the transmission of the history of mathematics. Based on the first draft of the translation that has been completed, we will first perfect the accuracy, professionalism, and fluency of the draft, verifying terminologies, deliberating difficulties in translation, combining language habits, and polishing the expression. Secondly, it is proposed to disseminate and promote the history of mathematics in two main ways. One is to set up a community of mathematics history in primary and secondary schools in Chongqing, to teach the content of this book, and to guide students to read independently by taking this book as a recommended bibliography in the form of gift distribution. The other is to set up general elective courses about the history of mathematics for students at Southwest University and carry out small academic seminars to promote our work actively. Our research will be able to provide a valuable reference for the Chinese translation of English mathematics popular science books and the dissemination of the history of mathematics.
