Focusing on the control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which is the national major needs on the State Council's "Three-Year Action Plan for the Defense Battle for Blue Skies", the development of plasma-catalytic oxidation technology for VOCs end control is of great urgency. This project will give full play upon the advantages of the applicant in the aspects of in-situ plasma infrared characterization and plasma catalysis evaluation, to solve the following three key scientific issues: 1) the contribution of oxygen atoms and ozone molecules to the surface reactive oxygen and the generation relation of the surface reactive oxygen under plasma condition, 2) the reaction characterization of hydrocarbon decomposition products and the surface reactive oxygen on the catalyst surface, and 3) the effect of charged catalyst on its performance; to study the formation mechanism of reactive oxygen on the catalyst surface under plasma condition, the contribution of surface reactive oxygen to the oxidation of VOCs, and the influence of charged catalyst on the performance of VOCs catalytic oxidation, to fill up the research blank of the influence of ions and electrons on the performance of plasma catalysts, to complete the process mechanism of VOCs plasma-catalytic oxidation; to develop a highly-efficient and stable plasma catalyst and to optimize reaction condition; to provide theoretical and technical support for the application of plasma-catalytic oxidation technology for VOCs end control.
