Aim To study the anti-tumor effect of Capilliposide (LC) in nude mice and C57BL/6 models and to evaluate its regulation of immune system. Methods Models of nude mice bearing human cancers were established. Then the models were divided into different groups. The body weight and tumor volume were recorded during the period of administration. The histopathology and VEGF of tumor tissue was measured by immunohistochemistry. Models of C57BL/6 mice bearing RM-1 were established. The anti-tumor effect of LC on C57BL/6 mice model was detected. Then hematological parameters, proliferation of spleen T lymphocyte and IL-2 activity were measured to evaluate its effects on immunity. Results LC could effectively inhibit tumor growth in a dose-dependent mode. The highest inhibitory rate was 58.77% ( PC-3), 56.22% (BGC-823) and 55.73% ( SK-OV-3) separately. LC could up-regulate WBC and HGB in peripheral blood of mice bearing RM-1. It significantly increased proliferation of spleen T lymphocyte and IL-2 activity. Conclusions It clearly suggests that LC has strong antitumor activity. Its effect may depend on immune improving and VEGF down-regulation.
