In the complex [(mda)3NaCl], (mda =p,p′-diaminodiphenylmethane) each amino-group is hydrogen-bonded to one Cl– and co-ordinated to one Na+; the co-ordination round Na+ is nearly octahedral (Na–N 2·52 A) and that round Cl– nearly trigonal prismatic (Cl–N 3·44 A).
