This paper describes the main concepts from biological game theory and some modifications that have been suggested to make them more appGcable in economic contexts. Several examples are given to illustrate that these concepts allow the formalization of intuitive insights that could not be formalised by traditional, rationalistic, game theory. In particulaz, the evolution of language, the evolution of cooperation and convergence towards risk-dominant equilibria aze discussed.
