The purpose of this paper is to review two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) problems with fixed effects and unbalanced data. We investigate the definition of main effects and interactions based on certain restrictions, the testing of ANOVA hypotheses, orthogonality in ANOVA, and the tests of product structures for interactions. The emphasis is on differences among ANOVA problems resulting from the restrictions used.
