The study investigates that the level of awareness on Academic Social Networking Sites (ASNS) among the research scholars in the Universities of Tamil Nadu and also the sources used to create awareness about ASNS. A well structured questionnaire was designed to collect the data from the respondents. A total of 1100 were distributed among the research scholars in the Universities of Tamil Nadu. Out of 1100 questionnaires, 773 filled in questionnaire were received back. It is found that majority of the respondents are having medium level of awareness on ASNS. Further, the level of awareness on ASNS in respect of various age groups and qualifications were also found. Majority of the research scholars were widely used web resources to aware of ASNS. The study has recommended the level of awareness on Academic Social Networking Sites (ASNS) are to be promoted among the research scholars in Universities of Tamil Nadu.
