The flexor muscles of hip, knee, and ankle were excited reflexly by stimulation of different afferent nerves. The relative amounts of contraction concurrently produced in pairs of the flexor muscles was shown to be different and rather characteristic for each different afferent nerve. The after discharge of 2 flexor muscles after concurrent reflex contractions may differ considerably in amount in the 2 muscles, although the stimulus for both was one and the same.
