Explains how existential concepts can serve as guidelines for cross-cultural counseling and notes the importance of relating to clients as members of the same universal culture as counselors. Predictors of effective living that can be used by counselors in diagnosis include self-knowledge, authenticity, courage, unfolding, existential anxiety, meaning in life, and responsibility.
