Abstract:Sexual violence (SV) is associated with a host of psychological problems, including posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and substance use (Kilpatrick & Acierno, 2003). Data indicate that college women are particularly vulnerable, with approximately 1 in 5 women experiencing sexual assault during college (Black, 2011). Researchers and policymakers increasingly recognize primary prevention programs as necessary to reduce rates of sexual victimization and its associated consequences (Degue, 2014). The White House developed a task force to protect students from sexual assault, and federal law now requires schools to provide sexual assault prevention programming (Violence Against Women Act, 2014). Therefore, it is imperative to develop and evaluate campus prevention programs to determine their effects on social norms, bystander behaviors, and perpetration.
