We read the article published by Martijn S et al., which discussed the relationship between cardiac rehabilitation (CR) participation and psychosocial factors with great interest [1]. The authors showed that health literacy and social support were low among nonparticipants in CR. Low participation rates in CR are a critical issue. Additionally, access to CR for patients with low health literacy and social support should be improved.We suggest mobile CR for patients with cardiovascular diseases having little social support and poor access to hospitals as a strategy for improving participation. There are several successful examples of mobile medical projects. Diabetes care using a customized mobile van was successful in spreading awareness, screening, and management of diabetes and obesity in numerous urban underprivileged populations [2]. A mobile health van allowed underserved women earlier access to prenatal care compared to other community clinics [3]. Mobile blood collection drives increased blood supply, which dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic [4]. We believe that providing mobile CR service is possible by using a vehicle equipped with a doctor, physical therapist, cycle ergometers, and electrocardiogram monitor. Mobile CR could be performed in a group setting. This would make patients more motivated than performing mobile CR individually.
