A radiosonde for intracranial pressure measurement is described. The device also transmits temperature information outside to overcome the effects of the thermal drifts. The sonde is powered from the outside through radio-frequency bursts 2 ms long at a frequency of 10 bursts per second. The data, transmitted through a pulse-code-modulation, are sampled outside after the end of each powering burst as the sonde continues to work for about 2 ms over the powering time utilizing the energy stored in a relatively large capacitor. Thus the problems arising from disturbing coupling between powering signal and interior measurement circuits are overcome. Furthermore the radiosonde power consumption is lowered to a negligible level.
