This paper describes several case studies involving placement of independent leg jack-up units. The study illustrates that conventional soil mechanic procedures can be used to identify and evaluate potential foundation problems. Additionally, jack-up units induced soil disturbance and its potential effects on pile platform foundation are considered together with work-over unit sliding.
