DiscussionIliac crest bone grafting of non-unions has been associated with union rates from 87% to 100%. 5 However, the treatment of persistent non-unions is challenging and the literature does not recommend a particular approach for failed bone grafting procedures. In unfortunate cases, amputation must be considered. 9 Therefore, the choice of a suitable bone graft should be made at revision surgery of a non-union.
