In [1] and [7] the distance-transitive graphs of valency 3 and of valency 4, girth 3 were determined. We use results of Sims [5], Quirin [4] and Sims and Thompson (unpublished, see [4]) to show that there is only one non-bipartite distance-transitive graph of valency 4 and girth> 3.
