Aims It is not known whether the apparent normality of echocardiographic examination results, in subjects bearing a mutation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy but without ultrasonic left ventricular hypertrophy, is due to incomplete phenotypic expression, or inaccurate echocardiographic criteria.
