Bats are social animals with highly developed audio-vocal systems whose brains share many similarities with that of humans, and thus, they emerge as an outstanding mammalian model to study social communication. In this article I focus on the findings from who discovered coordinated neural activity in the frontal cortex of socially communicating bats, and I review other recent advances in the field that explore the neural representation of social communication in bats.
