With LegalTech innovation progressing at an ever‐increasing pace, the jury is out regarding how fast the global legal services sector is implementing new technologies and what the impact is for lawyer and non‐lawyer skills across jurisdictions. This chapter sheds new light on these questions by analysing LegalTech adoption and skill rates embedded in online job adverts posted in 2019 by legal services sector employers based in Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Despite the hype surrounding the possibilities of LegalTech solutions, an analysis of legal services job advert data from each country shows that they are still in their infancy with respect to artificial intelligence (AI) and legal technology operations and job roles. With machine learning poised to become the driving force of LegalTech innovation, the demand profile for this is a very telling indicator of how different countries are positioning with respect to LegalTech adoption.
