presented in Table i, reveal that relatively fewer persons were in the younger age groups of the sample but more persons were in the age groups I5-44 and 65 and over. This age differential might largely reflect the ageing of the general population during the nine-year interval. In citing these comparisons, it is contended neither that they are the best measures of bias nor that they convincingly demonstrated the representativeness of the sample. However, they were the only measures available, and it is believed that they roughly indicated an approximate parallel between the sample and the universe. The final appraisal of the sampling technique used will await additional applications and tests under suitable conditions, and preferably with a much larger sample of the universe.
