During the plasma reference scenario of ITER, the Central Solenoid (CS) coils are submitted to pulsed heat loads due to pulse operating currents. All Cable‐In‐Conduit‐Conductors (CICC) of these magnets are cooled with a forced flow of supercritical helium. Thermohydraulic calculations aim to estimate the heat loads (static and pulsed) transferred to the thermal bath connected with the cryogenic refrigerator. These calculations are performed on the ITER CS system as its design is practically frozen. Comparison of the models is made through cross checking of two numerical codes: 1‐ Vincenta (Efremov Institute, Saint‐Petersburg) a quasi‐3D code which can model all the CS coil CICCs in parallel and the first cryogenic loop. 2‐ Gandalf (CryoSoft) which models one CICC (1‐D) and an associated cryogenic circuit (Flower) which has to be adapted in order to be relevant. The Gandalf model deals with the pancake 101 experiencing the most severe conditions. The results of Vincenta code are procured by ITER Organization...
