Fourth National Workshop on Bridge Research in Progress

本次研讨会的主要目标是：(a)确定目前在北美由联邦、州和地方交通机构、大学、研究机构和其他组织进行的桥梁研究的性质和程度；(b)确定哪些机构资助桥梁研究，并确定其当前需求和长期目标；(c)提供一个论坛，供研究人员、研究资助机构、桥梁设计者和业主之间分享信息；(d)编写一份报告，总结当前的桥梁研究活动，向桥梁研究项目主任、大学和机构研究人员、教育工作者、桥梁业主和咨询工程师以及对桥梁研究感兴趣的州和联邦机构分发。研讨会将确定国际桥梁工程研究的注意和北美实践的重要性。

ABSTRACT The primary objectives of this workshop are to: (a) determine the nature and extent of bridge research currently in progress throughout North America by federal, state, and local transportation agencies, universities, research institutions, and other organizations; (b) determine which agencies are funding bridge research and identify their current needs and long-term goals; (c) provide a forum for information sharing among and between researchers, research funding agencies, and bridge designers and owners; and (d) produce a report that summarizes current bridge research activities for dissemination to bridge research program directors university and institutional researchers, educators, bridge owners and consulting engineers, and state and federal agencies interested in bridge research. The workshop will identify international bridge engineering research of note and importance of North American practice.
