CONACyT: Failure Modes in Marine Structures

这个墨西哥研究项目的主要关注点是保护金属海上结构，如桥梁、石油平台、码头等。金属结构可能会因为一个或多个与电化学和力学相关的问题而失效。这些问题包括疲劳、局部腐蚀、磨损、普遍腐蚀等。在现实生活条件下，优先考虑每个问题的重要性和程度以及它们的综合影响的能力将大大提高我们延长这些结构寿命的能力。

A primary concern of this Mexican research project is the preservation of metallic maritime structures such as bridges, oil platforms, piers, etc. Metallic structures may fail because of one or a combination of different problems related to electrochemistry and mechanics. Those problems include fatigue, localized corrosion, wear, general corrosion, and others. The ability to prioritize the importance and the extent of each problem and their combined effects under real life conditions will greatly improve our capability of increasing the life of those structures.
