Commissioning of a laser-frequency comb for low resolution spectroscopy

The wavelength calibration tests with the Integral Field Spectrophotometer PMAS uses an innovative optical frequency comb source developed at innoFSPEC-AIP. This source comprises a set of equally spaced spectral lines covering the spectral range from 725 to 850 nm, and with a mode line separation of 1.2 nm which is unique in the world with this type of instrumentation. By feeding the comb light in the PMAS spectrograph and associating each line with pixels in the spectrograph detector we will calibrate this unit.
