Role of mitochondrial quality control in hepatic encephalopathy (B09)

肝性脑病（hepatic encephalopathy，HE）是由各种形式的肝功能障碍引起的神经精神综合征。由此产生的高氨血症导致星形胶质细胞中自噬/线粒体自噬和快速代谢重编程的调节。在这种情况下，我们的目标是更好地了解线粒体质量控制的机制作用，重点是线粒体自噬和自噬，以及能量代谢的发病机制HE。为此，我们将使用合适的体外、类器官和体内模型。因此，我们希望找到治疗HE的新策略。

Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a neuropsychatric syndrome caused by various forms of liver dysfunction. Resulting hyperammonemia leads to modulation of autophagy/ mitophagy and rapid metabolic reprogramming in astrocytes. In this context, we aim to better understand the mechanistic role of mitochondrial quality control, focusing on mitophagy and autophagy, and of energy metabolism for the pathogenesis of HE. For this we will use suitable in vitro-, organoid-, and in vivo-models. Thereby, we hope to find novel strategies for HE treatment.
