Global Sustainability Strategies of Asian Multinational Enterprises: Beyond COVID-19 Pandemic

冠状病毒病2019年(新冠肺炎)的大流行，以及随着民族主义的蔓延而出现的对中国崛起的恐惧，在很大程度上重新定义了世界，特别是在美国和西方国家的全球化逻辑。跨国企业(MNE)S的后CoVID战略需要纳入风险管理和全球化背后的制度逻辑视角。除了追求降低成本，跨国公司还考虑建立更多基于共享价值的合作伙伴关系，以与中国脱钩。然而，这种地缘政治压力被经济理性所抵消，在全球化和去全球化逻辑之间创造了不确定的优先顺序。

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the emerging fear of ‘China’s rise’ along with the spread of nationalism have substantially redefined the globalization logic in the world, especially in the U.S. and Western countries. Multinational enterprises (MNEs)’s post-COVID strategies need to incorporate both risk management and institutional logic perspectives underlying globalization. Apart from pursuing cost-reduction, MNEs have also considered building more partnerships based on shared value to decouple from China. Such geopolitical pressure is however counteracted by economic rationality, creating unsettled priority between the globalization and deglobalization logics.
