GRK 1042: Explorative Analysis and Visualisation of Large Information Spaces

研究训练组研究方案的核心是制定方法，特别是在可视化和计算机图形学的框架内，以支持数据挖掘、数据分析和管理大型信息空间，从而使信息空间本身可以是可视的，即以多媒体文件或复杂几何结构的形式。方案中最相关的主题领域是信息可视化、计算机图形学、人机交互、智能数据分析、信息检索、数据库和信息系统以及数字通信。数据挖掘和数据分析的目标之一是发现新的、以前未知的、但有用的信息。

Central to the research programmes of the Research Training Group is the development of methods, especially within the framework of visualisation and computer graphics, in support of data mining, data analysis, and the management of large information spaces, whereby the information spaces themselves may be visual in nature, i.e., in form of multimedia documents or complex geometric structures. The subject areas most relevant within the programme are information visualisation, computer graphics, human computer interaction, intelligent data analysis, information retrieval, database and information systems, as well as digital communication. One of the objectives of data mining and data analysis is to find new, previously unknown, yet useful information.
