Studies on Tropical Medicinal Plants

本文报道了采自新热带地区（主要是南美洲和印度尼西亚）的多种植物，分别用小鼠Sarcoma 180腹水瘤和V-79、P388和KB细胞进行抗肿瘤和细胞毒活性的测定。进一步研究通过这些筛选试验显示具有生物活性的那些植物以鉴定它们的活性成分。对这些植物中有效成分的分离、结构鉴定和生物活性进行了研究。从苦豆科（Simaroubaceae）的长叶桉（Eurycoma longifolia）中分离得到了苦木素类、角鲨烯型三萜醚类和替鲁卡拉烷型三萜类化合物，从卫矛科（Celastraceae）的美登木属（Maytenus）植物中分离得到了芳香化三萜及其二聚体，从防己科（Menispermaceae）的锡生藤（Cissampelos pareira）和变色Abuta concolor中分离得到了原酚异喹啉和氮杂橙蒽生物碱。

Many plants collected in the neotropical region, mainly in South America and Indonesia, were assayd for their antitumor and cytotoxic activities by using Sarcoma 180 ascites in mice and V-79, P388 and KB cells, respectively. Those plants shown to be biologicaly active by these screening tests were further investigated to identify their active principles. The isolation, structural elucidation and biological activities of active principles from those plants were studied. As the biological active compounds, quassinoids, squalene-type triterpene ethers and tirucallane-type triterpenes were isolated from Eurycoma longifolia (Simaroubaceae), aromatized triterpenes and their dimers from Maytenus plants (Celastraceae), and tropoloisoquinoline and azafluoranthene alkaloids from Cissampelos pareira and Abuta concolor (Menispermaceae).
