Japanese-English bilingual students'code-switching : a cross-sectional study from the structural perspective

本研究旨在从语法结构的角度探讨双语者的语码转换现象。平衡双语者的自然互动被记录，转录并形成一个语料库，包括超过10万个子句。研究者对语码转换的分句进行了分析，以确定是否有一种语言的项目插入到另一种语言的主句中，即插入模式，或者说话人是否从一种语言转换到另一种语言，即交替模式。

This study aims to look at bilinguals' code-switching phenomena from the perspective of grammatical structure. Naturalistic interactions of balanced bilinguals were recorded, transcribed and formed into a corpus consisting of over 10 thousands clauses. The code-switched clauses were examined to ascertain whether items from one language were inserted into a main clause in the other language, i.e. the insertion pattern or whether the speaker was switching from one language to the other, i.e. the alternation pattern.
